MAKEROOM is an evolving cultural platform creating physical space for art, fashion, making, music, hospitality, wellness, and community in Los Angeles.
Sat, Nov 712 – 9 PMArts District, LAFree
MAKEROOM creates experimental creative infrastructure that gives people space to make, connect, collaborate, and imagine what comes next. Through art, fashion, music, making, hospitality, and community, we turn underused spaces into places of participation, belonging, and opportunity, helping emerging creatives access resources, relationships, and visibility while strengthening the cultural ecosystem around them.
Each time, a single room in the Arts District holds art, wardrobe, alteration, sound, wellness and hospitality at once. The format can change. The invitation stays the same: come as you are, make something, take something, leave a little different.
Original work by Kay Wheeler and other artists on the brick, and installations that stay live from noon to close.
A clothing swap, trade and alteration bar. Bring a piece, take a piece, or rework the one you came in wearing.
A family-style table of prompts, collage, patches and open-ended making. Nothing you make here has to be finished.
Quiet enough to work through the afternoon. A DJ once the light drops.
A guided breathwork session opens the day. Youth Dealer offers pop-up micro facials and beauty care throughout, at an additional cost.
Coffee through the afternoon, plus an N/A zero-proof bar and local food vendors throughout the day.
The list is a starting point, not a boundary. Whatever you bring becomes part of the room.
MAKEROOM is built with the support of the people and places around it. Local businesses, artists, makers, and neighbors contribute materials, knowledge, resources, and time to help bring each room to life.
